CCP Prime just submitted a fix for this problem. Sites will despawn a reasonable amount of time after the first can is hacked. The unintentional "prisoners dilemma" in this case is interesting but the despawning mechanic is not easy to understand...

Thanks, I fixed the cause of that already so it should be out on TQ right now and fixed. There is an in game bug reporter as well which is a bit more efficient as it's not always the case that a developer will see a post on the forums.

The unresponsive nodes should be fixed (for the instances that are not just latency related). The hacking attempt closing by itself is very odd though. I am investigating it.

That's the way sites worked pre-Odyssey as well, not just the data and relic sites. Part of the reasoning behind it was to prevent cloaked people keeping sites alive and preventing their respawn. It's a bit heavy handed so we want to revisit it an...

Thanks! It sounds to me that the return message is getting stuck or very delayed somehow. The game itself is event based so any move you make is processed by the server and it then returns the changes that occurred in the system to you.

Haulie Berry, yeah it's getting the tension between the sites being accessible and the danger to pilots right. It's working as it always has been but obviously getting a lot more attention which is exposing some interesting design choices.
